The subject of holiness and holy living is a subject that has received a lot of misrepresentation among the present-day followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, holiness or sanctification is already paid for by the BLOOD that He shed on the OLD RUGGED CROSS. Hebrews makes it clear that Jesus SUFFERED OUTSIDE THE GATE in order to sanctify us – the disciples – with HIS OWN BLOOD! A correct understanding of holiness is therefore necessary in order to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. It is to be said, before passing, that a clear understanding of holiness requires that a person has had an ENCOUNTER with Jesus Christ. In other words, being BORN AGAIN and discipled by the Lord is the starting point for HOLY LIVING. Consequently, controversy concerning HOLINESS and HOLY LIVING is needless since we have been called unto holiness. Methinks that the inability to recognize the foregoing and the tendency to see holiness as being antithetical to PROSPERITY results from either ignorance of what CHRISTIANITY is all about or purely from deception dished out from the kingdom of Satan. This assertion is based on the fact that there is no way one can enjoy the Christian Life without embracing holy living. Apart from being a SHIELD from attacks from the kingdom of darkness, holy living is SINE QUA NON to reaping the fruits of one’s labour here on earth! Most importantly, it is CENTRAL to living ETERNALLY with the Almighty God in heaven. Shalom
