I start by saying that I am not a Marxist and I don’t want to become one. However, there are certain observations put forward by Karl Marx (1818-1883) which are relevant to the understanding of the prevailing situation. According to him, the RULING IDEAS in any society are the IDEAS of the RULING CLASS. Because of the monopoly of FORCE, these comprador elements can always have their way because the masses can easily be suppressed and then made to dance to their tune. Many state governors in the country have either adopted measures to RESTRICT the movement of the people or are contemplating doing so. Implicit in this type of action is the assumption that the masses are the ones to be SACRIFICED for the problems they have forced on nation through INDISCRIMINATE MEDICAL TOURISM abroad. CORONA VIRUS is not indigenous to Africa but have been brought to Nigeria and other African countries because of the SORRY STATE of the facilities in our specialist, general and teaching hospitals at home. What this means essentially is that it is the masses that should be PAYiNG for their inability to understand the ART OF GOVERNANCE! A typical example of the point I am trying to make is that of the Lagos State Governor. According to SANWO-EKO, a large proportion of the 44 CORONA VIRUS cases are from IKEJA and ETI-OSA local government areas – the natural abode of novea riches! Also, El-Rufai of Kaduna State has LITERALLY shut down the state because of the SINS the masses know NOTHING about! My appeal to the governors is that the time for making the necessary EQUIPMENT’S available in our health institutions is NOW. Also, the issue of MOTIVATING the medical personnel should be taken seriously. If we have hospitals that are of GOOD QUALITY like that of Saint John, Wellington (London North), somebody like Abba Kyari (Chief of Staff to the President) would have gone to bring CORONA VIRUS home. Consequently, the masses are not to be unnecessarily troubled for the current PANDEMIC. The ruling class are to be blamed for their needless. JUNKETING abroad. I rest my case.
