Prosperity is a phenomenon that has permeated discussions in many circles today including the Pentecostal one. It is to be noted that everything in our environment have been created for the purpose of providing for the welfare of man but the amount you can appropriate for yourself as an individual depends on many factors that are economic, political, familial, educational and so on in nature. It therefore becomes very clear that EQUALITY OF ACCESS to the MATERIAL THINGS of life only exists in the imagination of the dead! Having said that, it is germane to note that your attitude to these things – your mansion or mansions, your car or cars, your position or positions etc.- determines, to a large extent, your emotional and physical well-being particularly in a country like Nigeria where it seems the only thing that matters to everyone – parents, teachers, religious leaders, politicians, community leaders – is the amount of VANITIES you can appropriate to yourself! I designedly exclude the younger people from the foregoing simply because the elderly seems not to be passing the right type of VALUES – those that existed among those who did their schooling before 1973 when petroleum oil was discovered in commercial quantities. All these needless deaths, sicknesses and diseases are traceable to the inability to recognize the transient nature of HUMAN EXISTENCE and the inverse relationship that exists between human happiness and the amount of VANITIES you are able to amass.
